Photo by Dawn Steinberg Amidst the calls of “N22”
and “B13,” the North
Shore Towers Women’s
Club held a successful holiday party
on Wednesday, December 19, at
Towers on the Green. The “Bingo
Bagel Bash” was free to attending
members under the sponsorship
of the club. After several games
of bingo, bagels and salads were
served, ending with rugelach and
coffee. Acting co-presidents Gloria
Beck and Chickie Kaufman, along
with Carol Klinger and other steering
committee members, organized
the party to end the year on a note
of gaming fun. Prizes were awarded
to the game winners and a new
year for the club is about to begin…
With 55 new members, the
Women’s Club is busy planning
the events for next year under the
chairmanship of Co-President
Gloria Beck. The gifted lecturer,
Marilyn Carminio will present
a program spotlighting Ella
Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
Other events in the offing are
Professor James Coll (February 13),
who will speak on “The Wartime
Constitution.” Finishing off the
winter series, Marilyn Carminio
returns with the popular “Evening
2019 Coming On The Scene
with Marilyn Monroe.” Mark your
calendars on Wednesday, March
29, for that one. You won’t want
to miss it!
As winter fades away, we look
forward to the evening with
Professors Howard Ehrlich and
Harvey Sackowitz presenting
“Jewish Gangsters who Love their
Mothers.” The next event after
that will be our annual Spring
Luncheon slated for May 15 at the
Jolly fisherman. 120 women can be
accommodated, so we encourage
you to sign up early. Details will
be available in this newspaper, and
in the mailrooms.
Bingo Gals won’t you come out

CINEMA CLUB
On December 17, the Cinema Club held a discussion on the
film “A Star is Born.” The program was led by Vicki Mazel,
and Dr. Nurit Israeli provided insightful information on character
development and film’s plotline. The program continues
to draw a following and offers the audience an opportunity
for lively discussion. This monthly film series is open to all
residents. We thank Howard Simon, theater co-manager for
his cooperation in providing a film trailer and giving of his
time to this program.
The January film, tentatively scheduled for January 21 at 11
a.m., is “The Green Book.” We encourage all residents to support
the theater to insure its continued presence at the Towers.
Cinema Club information is provided in all the mailrooms and
at the top of the stairs to the theater. All discussion groups are
held at 11 a.m. on designated Monday mornings.
