ROCKING HIS HOMETOWN
Brian Setzer, the guitar hero who famously fronts the Stray Cats, is squeezing in
a local solo show on the band’s first tour in a decade, hyping the Massapequa
rockabilly rebel’s recently dropped first album in 25 years.
The three-time Grammy winner whose revival work extends to not only
rockabilly, but also swing, with his eponymous 19-member Brian Setzer
Orchestra, is considered one of the world’s greatest living guitarists.
In addition to Setzer bringing his solo act to the Hamptons for a sizzling
summer performance, the Stray Cats will also play an invitation-only show at
Revolution Bar & Music Hall in Amityville on August 2. Tickets to that private
show are being offered to SiriusXM subscribers.
There will be hot rods.
Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, 76 Main St., Westhampton
Beach, whbpac.org $136-$166. 8 p.m. August 10.
