The many faces of David Johansen, aka Buster Poindexter, will share the stage opening night at My Father’s Place on June 29.
frontman David Johansen, christens the stage with his feelgood earworms at
the newly rebooted My Father’s Place in Roslyn.
The excitement for the eagerly awaited reopening of the storied venue that
closed there decades ago can only be matched by Buster’s manic stage
presence, sure to get the supper club’s crowd on its feet and dancing in the
aisles.
Drawing from Buster’s catalogue — doubtful he’ll rock any Dolls or tunes from
his latest blues project, The Harry Smiths — Poindexter and his band, The
Banshees of Blue, will surely play “Hit The Road Jack,” “Hot, Hot, Hot” and
plenty of jazz/calypso covers.
