Manhasset Dental Arts: A leader in modern dentistry
ese days, Dr. Michael Abrams is
running on pure adrenaline. Specializing
in both orthodontics and periodontics,
this dually trained dentist is a
double-threat. Since he opened,
Manhasset Dental Arts, a new
state-of-the-art facility, with his
sister-in-law, Dr. Elizabeth Abrams, also
a dentist specializing in general and
cosmetic dentistry (dental trauma too,
especially in children), he hasn’t gotten
very much rest. Nevertheless, he is
enjoying the rush of delivering a healthy
smile his patients love.
“I haven’t slept since 2017,” laughs Dr.

BEHIND THE SMILE
What I enjoy most is giving someone a
smile transformation. When a patient
walks in to my oce feeling insecure
about their smile, we can help them
regain their condence, and that is truly
the most rewarding aspect of dentistry
for me. Having interdisciplinary training
helps me to appreciate each component
of the smile design. Periodontics deals
with the supporting bone and gums
around the teeth, while orthodontics
focuses on the relationship of the natural
teeth to each other as they come together
in a harmonious bite. Diagnosing
problems that plague our patients is
rewarding alone, but being able to show
the importance of these issues and
eectively treating them makes it that
much better.
INNOVATION APPRECIATION
Technology advances every day, and it’s
our job to keep up so we can provide the
most up-to-date and highest-quality level
treatment for our patients. We use 3D
Cone Beam Computed Tomography
(CBCT) scans to evaluate for possible
tooth root fractures, to aid in root canal
treatment and implant dentristry. Dental
impressions have also changed for the
better. e gooey materials that were once
used are now replaced with digital impression
scans. We can also treat disease with
minimally invasive lasers instead of
traditional surgery. We even have custom
braces that go on the back side of your
teeth, so they are truly invisible.
Dr. Abrams resides in Manhattan, and Dr.
Elizabeth Abrams lives in Manhasset with
her husband and three children. Both are
excited to be part of the Long Island
community.
