44halloween SPOOKTACULAR MARCH Pirates, vampires, and witches, oh my! Over 600 children and parents, dressed in all different kinds of costumes, celebrated the spooktacular holiday in Long Island City by taking part in the annual Halloween Trick-Or-Treating March. Lining up right by the East River at Gantry State Park, children fi lled up their candy bags. Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer was Grand Marshal of the parade with special guest, State Senator Michael Gianaris. Families made their fi rst trick-or-treat stop at the Little Ones school, then took some photos at the costume superstore Ricky’s, got more sweets from the 108th Precinct, and then walked down Vernon Boulevard showing off their costumes and getting more treats to end the day. The march was sponsored by the Chocolate Factory Theater, Ricky’s, Manducatis Rustica, Modern Spaces and Big City Graph-X.
