Astoria residents will soon have
a new place to pick up a scoop
or two.
Ample Hills Creamery, the Brooklyn
based ice cream shop that was
founded in 2011, is expanding to
Queens. The shop will open at 34-
02 30th Ave., We Heart Astoria first
reported. According to a spokesperson
for the company, it is slated to open
in early summer.
Currently, customers can purchase
the ice cream at the Riis Park Beach
Bazaar during the summer. Ample Hills
Creamery also sells its ice cream at
markets across Brooklyn, Manhattan
and Jersey City.
Its signature flavors include ooey
gooey butter cake, Nonna D’s oatmeal
lace, chocolate milk and cookies,
peppermint pattie, butter pecan
brittle and pb wins the cup. Most of
the toppings, including the peanut
butter brittle and peanut butter cups,
are made in house.

They use hormone-free milk and
cream from grass-fed cows and organic
cane sugar and are a registered dairy
plant since they pasteurize their milk in
a factory in Brooklyn.
“We are so excited to open our first
Queen location on 30th Avenue. We
look forward to getting to know this
thriving block of local businesses and
restaurants and share our ice cream
with the community,” said founders
Brian Smith and Jackie Cuscuna.
The CBRE Group was responsible
for finalizing the 10-year lease and
representatives for the real estate
firm said the space was chosen because
it sits “within a popular retail
corridor.”
“Astoria is one of the most popular
residential neighborhoods in Queens
right now, with a growing population
of young professionals and families,”
said Jeremy Scholder, a vice president
at CBRE. “The trendy Ample Hills
brand will be a welcomed amenity
for the community and is a great
addition to Astoria’s ever-expanding
restaurant and bar scene.”
