Real Estate 71-unit building to be constructed in LIC By Angela Matua More residential units are coming to Long Island City in the form of an 11-story building that includes parking and commercial space. Developer Circle F Capital filed plans at 22-43 Jackson Ave., a building that used to house the local 808 pension and health fund union. It’s in close proximity to the popular museum MoMA-P.S. 1. The 74,805-square-foot space will hold 71 units and a cellar with 46 parking spots, according to plans filed with the Department of Buildings. The ground floor will feature three commercial spaces including a gym, business center and a meeting room. According to LIC Partnership, about 8,945 units are slated for construction in the neighborhood in 2017. By 2020, about 395,000 square feet of retail in mixed-use development is slated for Long Island City.
