Swallow My Words launched two months ago at 11-11 44th Road and has been offering pure Belgium chocolate creations at corporate functions and to customers who have ordered off their website. The diverse staff includes chef Min Kim and her team of four that become part of the process of planning and selling the treats. All the chocolates are recommended to be consumed within 10 days to retain the freshness of both the chocolate and the unique fresh toppings that are all organic and recooked in-house. Chocolate bases can be chosen between semi-dark, 50% cocoa or white chocolate. Swallow My Words also offers four different kinds of rice krispie balls, nine unique flavored truffles like salted peanut butter and spicy curry. Also, customers can purchase regular 4-by-4 chocolate squares or “min-ies,” which are half the size. Among the different flavored creations, Kim and her team have come up with various unique combinations for the chocolate squares, each having names like “Monday Blues,” “Nut Job,” “1 a.m.”and among othes. Besides creating new chocolate ideas to bring to their customers, Swallow My Words offers the option to engrave a message on the squares either in your own words or following default messages like “Bite Me. Really, I Like It.” According to Kim, the engraving concept came from her business partner when the idea of edible cards was brought up. “Why not incorporate that with chocolate? People don’t really like to send cards nowadays” said Kim. The option to engrave on the chocolates is just an additional $2 and allows up to 70 characters. For now Swallow My Words only acquires orders either by phone or through their website and can schedule local pickups at their current location. Yet, the company hopes to open a retail shop within the next six months, where customers can come in at any time to try their chocolates. To order your own chocolates, either with a message or without, visit swallowmywords. com. Photos Courtesy of Swallow My Words
