BY JILL DAVIS If you’re like a lot of folks, the prospect of cooking a whole Thanksgiving dinner can be mighty intimidating (not to mention all those dishes to clean up!). I asked a friend what she wanted to make for Thanksgiving and she said, ”Reservations.” If you’re like my friend, have no fear. While many restaurants are closed on Thanksgiving, there are numerous places in Queens that will be open. Another friend bemoaned all of the work but wants a traditional Thanksgiving feast at home. If you’d rather dine at home with less fuss and muss, there are also options. You can roast your own turkey but have all the sides taken care of for you, or simply have the whole shebang catered soupto nuts. (Hint: Use your own serving dishes and everyone will think you were slaving at the stove for three days. Don’t worry, I won’t tell.) Bayside Milk Farm 35-15 Bell Blvd., Bayside 718-225-0050 Although BFM will be carrying fresh turkeys this year, they will be focusing on side dishes and desserts. In addition to traditional sides such as Brussels sprouts, yams and potatoes, they will be offering a variety of appetizers, salads, baked pies and cookie trays to round out the meal. Call the store for more information. Bourbon Street 40-12 Bell Blvd., Bayside, NY 718-224-2200 The restaurant is closed on Thanksgiving, but they will be open for takeout. Prices will vary as they customize dinners for each customer, so call to inquire. The deadline for orders is Friday, November 20th. Durso’s 189-91 Crocheron Avenue, Flushing 718-358-1311 If you are hosting a crowd, Durso’s offers a complete meal for 10-12 people that includes salad, turkey entrée, dressing, two side dishes and dessert ($249). For those who want to cook the bird not fuss with the sides, they offer all of the side dishes plus an antipasto platter and a fi rst course of lasagna or eggplant parmigiana ($199 for 10-12). Orders must be placed and paid for by Sunday, November 22nd and picked up by 5:00pm, Wednesday, November 25th. Giordano’s 44-37 Douglaston Parkway, Douglaston 718-428-1090 For dining in, the restaurant is offering their complete holiday dinner to take home serving 12-15 people ($229). Or choose their 18 lb. roast turkey by itself ($89). Call for more details.
