John Wick Chapter
3: Parabellum
Friday, October 11,
3pm & 7pm
In this third installment
of the adrenaline-fueled
action franchise, skilled
assassin John Wick
(Keanu Reeves) returns
with a $14 million price
tag on his head and an
army of bounty-hunting
killers on his trail. After
killing a member of the
shadowy international
assassin’s guild, the High Table, John Wick is
stripped of the organization’s protective services.
Wick must now fight his way through the streets
of New York as he becomes the target of the
world’s most ruthless killers. imdb.com Rated R
Director: Chad Stahelski
Writers: Derek Kolstad, Shay Hatten
Cast: Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian
McShane
“Director Chad Stahelski returns to the series
for the third time, bringing his rare brand of
streamlined, fluid action…Reeves is perfect, zenlike,
barely speaking (the only non-quipping
action star), but impeccably dressed. During
the fighting, he’s thrashed and bloodied, and
gets tired, which makes him more human, less
like a special effect... ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 –
Parabellum’ has momentum and adrenaline. It’s
primal and effective and entertaining all the way
to the end, and it hints at more to come.” ~ Jeffrey
M. Anderson, the San Francisco Examiner

Rated PG
Directors: Chris Renaud, Jonathan del Val
Writer: Brian Lynch
Cast: Voices of Patton Oswalt, Kevin Hart,
Harrison Ford
“There’s an underlying sweetness in ‘The Secret
Life of Pets 2’ that makes it all worthwhile, an
emotional core that is rare…it’s fun to watch…
The animation is warm and immersive, while
Alexandre Desplat’s original music is vibrant and
energized. The vocal work is strong throughout,
Patton Oswalt adding an earthiness and emotional
variance to Max that makes him even more adorable.”

The Curse of La
Llorona
Friday, October 25,
3pm & 7pm
Just in time for
Halloween, the clubhouse
presents this
horror movie flick
based on old Mexican
folklore. Ignoring the
eerie warning of a troubled
mother suspected
of child endangerment,
a social worker and
her own small kids are
soon drawn into a frightening supernatural
realm. Their only hope to survive La Llorona’s
deadly wrath may be a disillusioned priest and
the mysticism he practices to keep evil at bay,
on the fringes where fear and faith collide.
Warner Bros. Rated R
Director: Michael Chaves
Writers: Mikki Daughtry, Tobias Iaconis
Cast: Linda Cardellini, Raymond Cruz,
Patricia Velasquez
“Despite the director’s inexperience in feature
films, one can tell how much care was
put in the presentation of The Curse of La
Llorona… the camera-work is lively and creative,
there are a few impressive transitions
(one involving a transparent umbrella by a
swimming pool sent chills down my spine!)…
the reliance on jump-scares is compensated by
how well-timed they are. Also, Linda Cardellini
as the main character provides quite a solid
performance.” ~ Horrorworld.reviews
