N E W S OCTOBER 14 L E H A V R E 14 LEHAVRE COURIER | OCTOBER 2013 | WWW.QUEENSCOURIER.COM 4th Annual Children’s Olympics LeHavre children came together for the 4th annual children’s Olympics at pool #2 on Sunday, September 15. The day began with a 9/11 tribute and the Pledge of Allegiance. The children competed in swimming relays, biggest canon ball splash, running races, an obstacle course and a water balloon toss. Every competitor walked away with a trophy and those who placed 1st and 2nd in the competitions won metals! It was a great day for all. A special thanks to Teddy Toledo and Kim McCann for putting together this event every year and of course all of the parents. We also can’t forget J.R. Manna for his continuous support and sponsorship of this event. So long summer! On Saturday, August 31, LeHavre residents attended the “Summer’s End Cook Out with Logans Café” at pool #1. The night was a blast with friends and neighbors. Everyone danced the night away with music by a live DJ. Thank you to everyone who made this night such a success. A special thanks to Michael McKuan, Teddy Toledo and Nick Spector for helping with the set up,and of course the lifeguards and maintenance staff. A big thank you also goes to Maureen Montchall who has helped immensely with the organization of all the parties this summer!
