Quality Nursing Care at the Pavilion www.qns.com | july 2016 | lehavre Courier 5 By Asher J. Frankel At The Pavilion at Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing, our nurses are an important part of each patient’s care. They provide continuous care to our patients: assessing the patient, answering questions, giving medications and treatments, and assisting with medical procedures. One nurse at The Pavilion at Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing was recently asked how she enjoyed the job. She responded, “It’s not a job! To be able to take care of each and every patient that comes into The Pavilion at Queens and be an integral part of their recovery is not a job, it is an honor and privilege. The Pavilion at Queens nurses have the responsibility to help patients understand the care they will receive and what the patients must do to continue understanding their potential progress and goals. They explain to patients what they should and shouldn’t do as they go through treatment and recovery, and they must quickly respond to patients in need. Having a highly skilled and compassionate nursing team at the bedside of The Pavilion at Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing can make the difference in their stay. The Pavilion at Queens works to ensure that the best nursing care is available for each and every patient and their family 24/7. When you enter The Pavilion at Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing, you enter a community of compassion. You can see it in our people and in our nursing and rehabilitation services. We are committed to meeting the individual needs of our residents, families, and community. We are family, serving families. As one nurse proudly said, “I have no patients here, I have sick relatives.” The Pavilion at Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing serve many types of patient and resident needs – from short-term rehabilitation to traditional long-term care, The Pavilion is here to help those who are in need of nursing and rehabilitation services. The Nurses at The Pavilion understand that choosing the right center for anyone’s healthcare needs can be overwhelming, that is why each and every patient who walks through the doors of The Pavilion are immediately treated as if they are family. The Nurses make it their number one priority to make each and every patient feel welcomed and comfortable with their stay at The Pavilion. Post-acute rehab care is our main concern. We also believe the most effective way to provide compassionate care is to maintain high medical integrity, build a team spirit among staff and provide friendly, beautiful surroundings for our patients and their visitors. Although most transitions are not easy, we strive to facilitate that process with an environment where our patients and guests feel informed and comfortable. Recently, a patient named Wanda Maldonado will be discharged home after being on a Ventilator and weighing over 580 pounds. The doctors in the hospital never thought she would make it, but thanks to the nursing staff at The Pavilion, Wanda has lost 280 pounds since May 5, and is completely weaned off the ventilator and is now going home with a beautiful smile! It truly is an honor and privilege to take care of our Patients at The Pavilion at Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing. The Pavilion at Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing is located at 36-17 Parsons Blvd. in Flushing. Call (718) 888-5200 for more information. Advetorial
