N E W S M A R C H 3 L E H A V R E PRESIDENT’S REPORT: BY STANLEY R. GREENBERG, CPA I hope that the weather stays on the warm side and that we have an early spring. Soon we will be enjoying our tennis courts, swimming pools and all other outdoor recreation activities that Le Havre has to offer. FINANCIAL The 7 months ending January 31, 2017 (budgeted “We’re All About You” PUBLISHER & EDITOR Victoria Schneps-Yunis ASSOCIATE PUBLISHER Joshua A. Schneps EDITOR IN CHIEF Jill Davis ART DIRECTOR Nirmal Singh ARTISTS Ron Torina, Jonathan Rodriguez WWW.QNS.COM | MARCH 2017 | LEHAVRE COURIER 3 versus actual) showed revenues of $9,637,726 (58.25%) of the budgeted amount of $16,544,208 and total expenses of $8,923,924 (56.50%) of the budgeted amount of $15,794,662 as reported by our accountants. CONCESSION It is unfortunate that we were unable to open the concession under new management on the scheduled date. This delay is entirely due to the bureaucracy of the Board of Health and the fact that they have not finalized the paperwork yet (in fact the first set of documents was lost). Therefore, a pre-inspection has not taken place which is mandatory before opening up under new management. We are hopeful that approval will be granted very soon. As soon as that happens we will have the grand opening of the Sunflower Bistro. Thank you for your patience with regards to this matter. HALLWAYS & LOBBIES As stated in previous columns, the Board is still researching various interior design professionals in our research for the hallways and lobbies upgrade project. As you can understand, extensive research is needed to come up with a good decorating plan that we can all be very proud of before beginning this very big project. I will continue to update you as more information becomes available. CEMENT UNDER THE BUILDINGS We will be continuing our cement work under the buildings project when the weather gets warmer. As you may be aware, we have completed eleven buildings in this long-term project, and we will continue do approximately 3-4 buildings each year until completion. LOBBY DOOR REPLACEMENT This is the final year for the lobby door project. By the end of 2017, all thirty-two doors will have been replaced. Thanks again for your continued support. FROM THE MANAGER’S DESK: BY MARGARET COSTELLO At our recent Captains’ Meeting, the “phone tree” method of distributing important messages to our residents was discussed. The fact that the telephone number displayed with the message was not recognizable was an issue for some residents. The telephone numbers below are the numbers associated with all of the “Phone Tree” lines so perhaps these numbers can be placed by your phone for future reference. Additionally, future messages will have the option of being repeated by pressing the “#” key (which the message will indicate). • 718-673-4284 • 718-942-7536 • 718-942-7631 • 718-942-7639 Other items discussed at the Captains’ Meeting were the reopening of the Concession under new management (which we anticipate will happen sometime in March), the continuance of the cementunder the-buildings project to commence around May/June, and the completion of the lobby door project this year. The Captains were advised that the hallway/lobby refurbishment project is actively being worked on, but no decisions have been made at this time. Hope everyone is enjoying this spring-like weather!
