C R Y D E R P O I N T 8 NOVEMBER The Halloween Kids Party was Spooky Good Fun! It was a perfect fall day on October 15 when the Quality of Life Committee hosted a Halloween party for Cryder Point kids and their friends. Over 30 children met in the 01/21 courtyard along with their parents, grandparents and other assorted grown-ups. Activities included a costume parade, games and sack races. Most of the action was on the pool deck, which was transformed with decorations, and the kids played games for tickets they turned in for spooky prizes such as bug rings and glow sticks. There was also 50/50 raffl e for the adults, where the winner (Dorene Finnegan) received half of the money collected and the other half was set aside to be used for future Cryder Point events. Thanks go to Irene Magnozzi, Krista Berg and Dorene Finnegan who led the event and took care of much of the planning, shopping and organizing. Thanks also to the volunteers who helped out tremendously: Vinnie Cinque; Joe and Carmela Leonardi; John Murphy; Marcia Coughlin; Deborah and Carl Berg; Cecilia Ames; Michael and Yuzuko DeGrottole; and Beverly Jacobs’ grandson, Jarrett Jacobs. Kudos also go to Queens Garden Center, which contributed the festive pumpkin and hay display in the courtyard (free of charge!) and is featured on this month’s cover. The Committee is doing a terrifi c job putting these events together, and everyone looks forward to seeing what’s in store next. In fact it looks like the Committee’s cooking up something for the holidays, so be on the lookout for updates! Photos by Dorene Finnegan 8 CRYDER POINT COURIER | NOVEMBER 2016 | WWW.QNS.COM
