Message from
the Board President
Obviously our next big project is the elevator upgrade
scheduled for September of 2020. Please
read the recap and update in this issue, which
includes answers to the most commonly asked
questions we’ve received so far. Thanks to all
who have asked questions, which only help us
better communicate with everyone as we move
forward.
Please keep in mind that we have a lot of time
before we get into “mobilization” mode. We are
working to solidify plans, so bear with us as we
work through the particulars. There will be shareholder
meetings down the road as needed, and
in the meantime, there will be periodic updates published in this paper
over the coming months to keep everyone informed; there may not be
a new update every month—but then again there may be, depending
upon need.
That said, it’s never too early to plan ahead, whether for yourself or a
friend or neighbor. In addition, residents should email the board with
questions, and I especially hope will feel free to submit their own ideas
for how we can optimally handle the disruption (you can never have too
many new ideas.).
With everything else going on, Cryder Point’s annual School Drive was
a little under the radar this year. This important initiative asks residents
to donate necessary school supplies to kids in need, and this year’s contributions
went to nearby St. Fidelis in College Point. Thank you to Cryder
Point Community Affairs for coordinating the drive and to all who donated.
Look for a write up on this very worthwhile effort in next month’s
Cryder Point Courier.
On a totally different subject: Inquiring minds want to know why the
Kids Zone Pool Party, which was scheduled for late August, was canceled.
That’s never happened before! In short, no one signed up.
While it’s difficult to plan ahead with little ones (someone is bound
to have a runny nose that morning), it’s important that parents sign up
ahead of time since there are commitments, such as a DJ and pool staff,
that need a few days’ notice either way. This has been a successful event in
the past that we’d like to see continue, so please keep this in mind for next
summer. Speaking of kids’ parties, we have the annual Halloween Parade
& Party scheduled for October 19, so please save the date.
Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t say thanks to Elite for another wonderful
pool season. Pool Manager Shaun McNally, Assistant Manager
Alexa Capo and their supervisor, Nick Santo, did a fantastic job making
sure that Cryder Point had another great year. Elite will be returning to
Cryder Point next year, so keep that happy thought in mind in the middle
of winter!
Till next time, Jill Davis
