Thursday, June 23, 7pm is set for the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting and election for the Board of Directors. As previously reported, we have held the meeting at the Bay Terrace Jewish Center for several years but when we called to make the reservation, they told us that they are not renting out the space this summer. So instead, the meeting will be held at P.S. 193 (our local voting location). We have secured the auditorium so there will be plenty of room. (By the way, the school advised us that the room will be decorated for their graduation ceremony the next morning— don’t want you to think all of the fuss is for us!) On behalf of the Board, I encourage everyone to vote and to attend the meeting in person if you can. Remember the FiOS survey that was conducted eons ago? Stacey Pankavich, Maxine Schiller and I fi nally met with FiOS representatives last month to renegotiate their proposal. One sticking point was that the overwhelming majority of current Cryder Point FiOS subscribers want phone service included in the package, which was not originally offered. They came back with a new proposal which includes phone service, and we’re crunching the numbers to see whether there is suffi cient savings to warrant a long-term commitment. Please stay tuned. Seawall work continues, and the pool area was completed on time for this season’s opening. The focus is now on fi nishing the dock and what will be a promenade/seating area adjacent to the dock entry, as well as getting the playground up and running. As we’re all aware, this has been a very long process with delays along the way, and everyone is anxious to see it done. I believe the payoff will have been worth the wait, with a much improved dock, stellar views and a few additional parking spaces gained. Continued thanks go to everyone for your patience throughout this major project and I, as well as all of the Board, look forward to announcing its completion, which is now targeted for next month. None of us can foresee new hurdles, and we have fi ngers crossed that the heavy duty work and decisions are behind us. As always, major changes to the timeline will be announced (so let’s hope for no major announcements!). In the meantime, a happy and safe summer to everyone!
