MAY 7 C R Y D E R P O I N T Anatomy of a Fall… www.qNS.com | MAY 2016 | CRYDER POINT Courier 7 Tuesday morning, after the fall… It looked pretty realistic! “Do Not Cross” tape tied to a tree. There were actors, a lot of production crew and I think I spotted the director. There was also a white sheet under which the “body” presumably was, but it looked awfully clean for someone who had per the script landed on her head on hard pavement. A stretcher sat close by, ready to take her to the “morgue.” And it sat, and it sat… It was an unusually chilly day for this late in April; it felt more like mid-March, and since there wasn’t a lot of activity, the best idea seemed to be to keep moving around to stay warm and try to get some interesting pictures of the “set.” Except this time I got shooed away by three different production assistants. “Sorry ma’am,” one said, “The camera will be pointing directly toward you. Can you move over there?” He pointed far, far away (any further and I’d have been in the river). Needless to say Tuesday was a lot less exciting than Monday had been, but that was okay. I had other things to do (like get this article together). I have a newfound respect for people work on a film set, no matter what their particular jobs are. A lot of waiting for a few brief moments of action… reminds me of a football game, but I digress... Wednesday, April 27: The production company “loaded out” so that everything could return to normal, and they were packed up and out of here by 4pm. Tyler had told us they wanted to thank all of our residents for their time and patience, so they dispatched an ice cream truck on Wednesday evening for all to enjoy. I didn’t have any but I heard that it was excellent. I spoke to Tyler on the phone briefly, and he was extremely appreciative of everyone’s cooperation, as we are of him and his crew. That’s a wrap!
