COVID VACCINE UPDATE
Covid vaccines continue to roll out but the
process remains slow. At press time, per nyc.gov,
45% of adult Queens residents have received one
dose of a Covid vaccine and 28% have been fully
inoculated. This is a significant increase from one
month ago. Adults age 30 and over became eligible
to get the vaccine as of March 30 and New
Yorkers 16 and older became eligible on March 6.
New York is introducing the Excelsior Pass
digital app which enables you to store your proof
of vaccination on your smartphone. You can also
print the pass and carry it with you. The app is
available from the Apple App Store and Google
Play Store. Visit https://covid19vaccine.health.
ny.gov/excelsior-pass for more information.
The CDC has announced that people who are
fully vaccinated (which means two weeks after
your last shot) can gather indoors with other
fully vaccinated people without wearing a mask
or staying 6 feet apart.
Please note: Although Covid rates in NYC
have declined since January, recently identified
variants which are more contagious have slowed
the improvement. The CDC reports that data suggest
that the current vaccines are effective against
these variants but it is continuing to monitor the
situation. The CDC continues to recommend
that everyone wear masks in public and maintain
social distancing even if you have been fully
inoculated. Please continue to follow the Covid
guidelines outlined on this page. Thank you.
BOARD APPOINTMENT
I am pleased to announce that Rob Cohen has
agreed to join the Cryder Point Board as Director.
He will be fulfilling Lew Finkelman’s term which
runs until 2022.
Rob and his wife Jessica have lived here since
2015 and welcomed their son Jett in 2018. Prior
to moving to Cryder Point, Rob and Jessica resided
in another Whitestone co-op for several
years.
Rob has a degree in economics and will bring
a lot to the table when it comes to our finances.
He is also a registered and certified physician assistant
with a doctorate degree in health science.
Currently, he holds a position in Research &
Development for a major pharmaceutical company.
Rob looks
forward to
serving our
community.
Please join
me in welcoming
Rob to the board.
We look forward to
a great working relationship
with him.
2021 ANNUAL MEETING
The Board decided that given ongoing uncertainties
due to the coronavirus, it would be much
more straightforward to hold the annual meeting
and election in August as we did last year. It will
be held in the 01/21 courtyard, date TBA.
CO-OP LEASE EXTENSION REMINDER
Ballots were mailed to all shareholders on
March 1 to vote on the extension of the co-op’s
underlying lease. As explained, the co-op needs
a minimum of 75% of shares voting in favor of
the lease extension to take effect and we have not
reached that goal (currently about 52% of shares
have been voted). This extension is extremely
important for buyers to obtain financing and
shareholders who wish to refinance. If you need
another copy of the ballot and/or letter, please
contact Management.
BUILDINGLINK REMINDER
Approximately 2/3 of apartments have registered
with BuildingLink, but not all have activated
their accounts. Those of you who have
active accounts are aware of the many updates
that are sent out from Management using this
tool, such as emergency repair notifications, etc.
It’s a lot faster and more efficient than using paper
notices, and everyone is urged to sign up. Please
contact Bridget Matus in the office if you have
any questions about how to get started.
MANAGEMENT OFFICE APPOINTMENTS
REMINDER
The Management Office is open Monday–Friday
from 10 am until 4 pm. Please note that hours
are now by appointment only (no walk-ins). This
is to minimize the amount of traffic in and out of
the office, not only for safety/health reasons, but
also to allow Management to provide sufficient
time and better service to each resident.
To schedule an appointment, please call the office
at 718-767-5003 or email Stacey Pankavich at
spankavich@cryderpoint.com or Bridget Matus
at bmatus@cryderpoint.com.

Use sanitizer as a second choice if soap isn’t available.
Keep your distance
No congregating!
Always practice social distancing, i.e., stay 6 feet away from the
next person, even if you are wearing a mask
If you don’t feel well
Seek medical care if you are not feeling well for 3 to 4 days.
Unfortunately, not everyone is tested for the virus.
The symptoms vary widely, so it’s difficult to tell if you actually
have the coronavirus if you have not been tested.
However, you will likely be advised by your medical professional
to self-quarantine. It is imperative that you do so until you are
medically cleared.
Notify Management so that you can be assisted, e.g., having
your trash picked up outside your door.

Wedding Bells at
Cryder Point!
It’s so nice to have a happy story to share.
Please join us in congratulating Cryder Point
residents Susan and Joel Glazer on the marriage
of their granddaughter Rachel—right
here at Cryder Point!
Susan reports that the March 2 ceremony
was supposed to have taken place outside.
“Once upon a time,” Susan writes, “hiding
among homes and condos neatly tucked away
behind our beautiful Cryder Point is the view
of the river and the bridge and fabulous landscaping
and blue skies.” A beautiful setting for
a beautiful occasion.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other
plans. “It was a brutal day,” Susan reported,
“with 50 mile an hour winds and single digit
temperatures.”
The idyllic setting for the ceremony was
scrubbed, but the show--and the wedding--
must go on! Rachel and her groom Ryan were

undeterred and took
their vows in the lobby

of the 41 Building (it’s always good to have
a backup plan).
Still, the happy couple couldn’t resist a scenic
photo op. Susan said, “Here’s their first
kiss as Mr. and Mrs. At our dock, ignoring
the weather and becoming part of a Cryder
Point spectacular memory.”
Indeed it is! We wish newlyweds Rachel
and Ryan Beakes all the best for a wonderful,
happy life together and are happy that Cryder
Point was the setting for their fantastic future.
