Cricket West Indies (CWI) was
forced to postpone the three-match
One Day International series in Pakistan
after a further five persons —
wicketkeeper/batsman Shai Hope,
left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein, allrounder
Justin Greaves along with
assistant coach Roddy Estwick, and
team physician Dr Akshai Mansingh
— tested positive for COVID-19 in the
latest round of testing carried out by
the Pakistan Cricket Board last week.
This was in addition to the three
players- fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell,
allrounder Roston Chase and
Kyle Mayers was tested positive for
Covid-19 upon arrival in Pakistan on
December 9. They had been ruled out
of the recently concluded T20 series
and went into quarantine for the
next ten days.
In commenting on the ODI series,
CWI and the Pakistan Cricket Board
in a joint statement said it has been
agreed that the series, which forms
part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World
Cup Super League, will be postponed
and rescheduled for early June 2022.
Although three players were tested
for covid the T20 series went on as
scheduled, which the regional team
lost.

Pakistan pulled off a record run
chase to make a clean sweep of the
three-match T20 series against West
Indies in Karachi last week.
Choosing to bat first at the National
Stadium in Karachi, West Indies raced
to 207 for three off their 20 overs with
stand-in captain Nicholas Pooran hitting
a 64 off 37 deliveries — his fourth
half-century in T20 Internationals.
Shamarah Brooks promoted to open,
hammered 49 off 31 balls, while partner
Brandon King hit 43 from deliveries
and left-hander Darren Bravo made 34
off 27 balls.
Needing to score at nearly 10 runs
per over to achieve their highest-ever
successful run chase.

Series for his 203 runs in the series at
an average of 67
