Gayle has hit a record 1000 career
sixes in Twenty20s, hitting eight sixes
playing for Kings XIPunjab last week
in the Indian Premier League (IPL)
tournament in Abu Dhabi , UAE.
However, he agonizingly missed
out on a 23rd Twenty20 century
when he was bowled by Barbadosborn
England speedster, Jofra Archer
for 99, as Kings Punjab saw their
five-game winning streak snapped
with a seven-wicket defeat to Rajasthan
Royals.
Gayle, 41 faced 63 balls and also
belted 12 fours to pass his 1000
career sixes in Twenty20s.
He became the first batsman to hit
1000 sixes in Twenty20 cricket

(CWI), Ricky Skerritt is hoping that
regional players will choose to play
for the West Indies before Twenty20
leagues, but the board will not punish
non-contracted players for playing their
trade around the world.
Skerritt, in an interview on Sports

Lloyd concern
over WI team

Legendary former West Indies Cricket
Captain, Clive Lloyd has expressed
concern over the inclusion of only two
specialist openers for the two-Test tour
of New Zealand but believes uncapped
Joshua Da Silva should be groomed to
fill the crucial positions.
Owing to the shortness of the series,
the selectors opted for the opening pair
of Kraigg Braithwaite and John Campbell,
but Lloyd said the move could
backfire especially if either batsman
found themselves badly out of form.
