Jamaican sprint queen Elaine
Thompson-Herah has been nominated
for the 2021 World Athletics
Female Athlete of the Year award,
according to the Jamaica Gleaner.
The paper reported on Friday that
Thompson-Herah followed up on
her Rio 2016 Olympic success with
gold medals in the 100m, 200m and
4x100m at the Tokyo Olympics this
summer.
She also lowered her personal best
times to 10.54 seconds in the 100m
and 21.53 in the 200m, making her
the fastest woman alive, the Gleaner
said.
It said the other nominees are
Olympic discus champion Valarie
Allman from USA, Olympic 100m
hurdles champion Jasmine Camacho
Quinn from Puerto Rico, Olympic
5,000m and 10,000m champion

WI Women to
tour Pakistan

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has confirmed
that the West Indies Women are
set to tour Pakistan for three One-Day
Internationals (ODI) from Nov. 8-14.
A CWI release last week said the Pakistan
Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed
all the tour logistics and submitted
detailed medical and security plans to
CWI for review.
The ODI series are scheduled to be
played at the National Stadium in Karachi.
They will travel directly to Zimbabwe
after the ODI series for the ICC
Women’s World Cup qualifiers from
Nov. 21—Dec. 5. They will be one of 10
teams, along with Pakistan, seeking to
secure one of three qualifying places for
