On Oct. 13, the United Way of New York City teamed with Ernst & Young to
distribute free laptops to students in the South Bronx as part of efforts to close
the digital divide.

The Pelham Parkway Neighborhood Association general community meeting
was held on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 2134 Barnes Ave. The featured speaker was
Stephen Caruso, citywide Community Affairs Offi cer for the NYC Department
of Sanitation. Caruso explained what his job was — being the information center
for sanitation, informing the public of sanitation policy, and attending community
meetings to get feedback on problems and issues for the sanitation deDJ
