explosion, the Bronx added
two runs in the top of the
second to chip away at Chicago’s
lead. Ricardo Martinez
grounded out into a
fielder’s choice that scored
Luis Hernandez. A fielding
error let Emmanuel Zambrano
score the Bronx’s last
run of the inning.
Chicago answered back,
adding two runs in the bottom
of the second. A fielder’s
choice scored Warner
and gave Chicago its ninth
run of the game. Jamir
Scott scored the tenth run
on a failed pickoff attempt
that resulted in a throwing
error.
The Bronx scored one run
in the top of the third and
five runs in the top of the
fourth to tie the game. In the
third inning, Jake Acosta
scored on a balk. Justin Otis
opened the scoring in the
fourth with a double to left
field that scored Zambrano
and Martinez. Otis scored
the Bronx’s eighth run of
the game on a balk, followed
by Acosta scoring on a wild
pitch. Martinez scored the
Bronx’s tenth run to tie the
game due to a balk by the opposing
pitcher.
After being rattled in
the fourth inning, Chicago’s
juggernaut offense responded
in the bottom of the
fifth with ten runs. A fielding
error enabled Hudson
to score, opening the scoring
for the inning. Derrick
Davis III had an RBI double
to right field that scored
Trevion Robinson. Chicago’s
thirteenth and fourteenth
runs came from RBI singles
by Lott and Antonio Porterfield.

wild pitch, giving Chicago a
five run lead. A Grant double
to right field knocked in
Porterfield and Scott, which
made the score 17-10 in favor
of Chicago. Chicago added
two more runs on RBI singles
by Hudson and Davis
