P.S. 75 GRADUATES
Councilman Rafael Salamanca joined the fi fth grade graduating class of P.S. 75 to celebrate
their academic achievements and announced the allocation of $920,000 to fund new auditorium
air conditioning units, technology upgrades and after-school programming.

GJONAJ HONORS 13TH CD GRADUATES

The Police Athletic League hosted its annual Poetry Jam on Friday, May 31, showcasing the
winners of the PAL Arts After-School Program’s annual Poetry Writing Contest, at Affi rmation
Arts in Manhattan. This year’s theme and corresponding title of the 2019 Poetry Anthology
is ‘Identity.’ The winning poems were compiled in an anthology, featuring the original
poetry and artwork of students across the fi ve boroughs, including Bronx resident and PAL
P.S. 47 fourth grader Pavani who wrote the poem, ‘The Sun Rises.’

COUNCILMAN GJONAJ TOURS VAN NEST
As part of his offi ce’s Wall the District initiative, Councilman Mark Gjonaj walked the Van
Nest area to identify issues that impact the neighborhood.
