Basketball Star Koby Brea Signs National Letter
Of Intent To Attend University Of Dayton
6’6” senior guard Koby
Brea signed his letter of intent
yesterday at Monsignor
Scanlan’s Gallagher Gymnasium
in front of his family,
fellow teammates, classmates,
coaching staff and
school administration.
All-City guard Koby Brea,
is the first NCAA D1, signee
under head coach Dwayne
Mitchell since taking over
the program in 2012, where
Coach Mitchell captured the
schools first CHSAA City,
State and Federation titles.
Under Coach Mitchell, the
Scanlan Crusaders have elevated
from the Class “B” to
“AA” level in a short period
of time, have graduated 100
percent of his players, transitioned
athletes to college and
have consistently played a
national level schedule. This
season is no different with
games in Texas, North Carolina,
Maryland, Connecticut
and in New York’s CHSAA
“AA” which is one of the
toughest leagues in America.
Coach Mitchell had this
to say about Brea’s signing,

as we celebrate one of our
young men who has worked
extremely hard on and off the
court to be afforded this special
moment. We are so proud
of “Koby” and we wish him
nothing but success.”

AFC Rapid Soccer Finals

AFC Rapid Soccer League fi nished out their season with
three All-Star games played by Boys Majors, Girls Majors
and Minors level on Saturday, Nov. 23rd. For Boys Majors,
Senid Godusevic for the black shirt team and Max Weihler
and Joseph Cala for the red shirt team scored goals. For
Girls Majors, Sia Karampimperis for the black shirt team
and Kailey Seigmund and Danielle Brown for the red shirt
team scored goals. For Minors, Gino Luciano for the black
shirt team and Lily Whelan and James D’Agostino for the
red shirt team scored goals. Ending all three games with
a score of 2-1. There was wonderful teamwork by all who
played and great saves in the box throughout the games. It
was a fantastic turnout by the parents to cheer them all on.
