Bronx River Art Center, in collaboration
with Bronx Arts Ensemble,
presents an evening of music,
poetry and art - featuring a performance
by soprano Martha Guth and
pianist Erika Switzer in BRAC’s
newly renovated event space.
They will perform the great Roberto
Sierra’s song cycles based on
the poetry of Luis Lloréns Torres and
Julia de Burgos, two of Puerto Rico’s
fi nest poets.
The program will also include
Robert Baksa and Ernst Bacon’s settings
of Emily Dickinson texts and
songs by Clara Schumann and Amy
Beach.
The music will be interspersed
with dramatic poetry readings in
English and Spanish by Bronx Arts
Ensemble theater teaching artist extraordinaire
Gina Vasquez.
The performance will take place
on Friday, November 22, at 7 p.m. at
Bronx River Art Center, 1087 East
Tremont Avenue.

The Enrico Fermi Cultural
Center Committee, Frances Fusco,
president, will present the acclaimed
fi lm ‘Il Posto,’ in Italian with English
subtitles, on Thursday, December 5,
at 6:30 p.m. at the Belmont Library/
Enrico Fermi Cultural Center, 610 E.
186th Street. The Introduction will
be given by The Honorable John Barone.

into the perils of modern adulthood.
The movie starts Loredana Detto
as Antonietta Masetti, and Sandro
Panseri as Domenico Cantoni.
