When it comes to all the great restaurants and local hangouts in Astoria I don’t think there in one. e 30th Avenue Restaurant Week is something that should be taken advantage of by all our readers. It is a great way to support local business, meet your neighbors and enjoy a variety of restaurants from Butcher Bar to Brooklyn Bagel & Co ee Company. Over 23 restaurants are participating from October 12 to October 21. All you have to do is bring in your favorite magazine, BORO of course, and present it at each establishment to save! Flip through this issue to nd all the great o ers. October also marks your last chance to take advantage of LIC Flea & Food’s outdoor market. It was a project of mine that I am really proud to have worked on with hundreds of local businesses participating in selling their merchandise and delicious food. Come down any Saturday and Sunday in October. We have special events planned every weekend from a pumpkin patch brought directly by local farmers to a weekend of Japanese culture including food, music and activities. e market will be indoors for the holiday and back outdoors starting next April.
