LIC incubator helps local food businesses grow
The incubator, which celebrated its
eighth year in May, rents clients licensed
commercial kitchen space,
office space, cold rooms, conference
rooms and more. The space
is administered by the Queens
Economic Development Corporation
and funded by the New York City
Economic Development Corporation and
is part of their network of incubators. The
staff provide clients resources like business
counseling, workshops and events.
“We want to get them to the next level,”
said Patricia Richter, client services manager.
“We don’t expect you here for more
than three to five years.”
Meet four businesses Richter introduced
to BORO that are on the rise. These entrepreneurs
are all sharing parts of their
heritage or their passions with consumers.
They say the diverse Queens community
nourishes their businesses, while the Entrepreneur
Space helps them grow.
