Jacobs’ is across the living room. They
each use their offices as their personal
dressing rooms. Jacobs keeps a set of
valuable timepieces in his office, while
Cecilia displays hats and her jewelry
on the walls.
While there are two separate
spaces for both of them, the couple
promises heavy change to come,
with an emphasis on collaboration
and including more elements from
Jacobs as the two hike up the path to
marriage.
“You're essentially archiving this
version of the apartment,” Cecilia
told me. “Over the next year, we'll be
redecorating.”
“We want to brighten the kitchen,”
Jacobs said. “That’s No. 1 for us.”
The couple is looking for a look
that’s “bright and white especially
because there are no windows in
there,” Carolynn added. The kitchen
at the time of the interview had brown
cabinets and drawers and no windows.
