My physical practice, I have
found, has really slowed
down but my mindfulness,
meditation, breathwork and
self reiki are huge for me.”
We chatted about the increasing
number of studios
popping up in Astoria. Alexandrescu
said that before
opening Sacred Space, she
hadn’t been able to find a
one-stop shop for all wellness
modalities, including sound,
reiki, tarot and energy work.
Her intention for opening her
business was to provide just
that and create a place where
students feel held and supported.

“We’re going to be full service,
all ages and levels of fitness
and wellness,” she said. “I
do end-of-life support, so that
will eventually be brought
into the space as well. Having
something that fully supports
the spiritual journey is really
important to me.”
She noted that many students
would start with one
practice and then branch out
into other areas of wellness.
“Some students will focus
just on the physical aspects
and as you start to become
