Love is in the air in western Queens. Every year, we
share stories of how local couples met in Astoria, Long
Island City and Sunnyside. This year, we expanded
our search for local love stories to include couples who
got engaged or married in western Queens — and we
got an overwhelming response. If our inbox full of
submissions is any indication, our neighborhood is the
perfect place to find love or tie the knot (page 14). Plus,
we’re featuring even more Valentine’s Day photos in
our Instagram spread (page 10).
But February isn’t just about romance; it’s also a
time to show yourself some love. Have fun with fitness
at RIOULT Dance Center (page 14), and fuel up with
vegan eats nearby at Savage Sicko Bistro (page 32).
Make your apartment a haven by bringing in some
plant life — we’d recommend starting by building
your own terrarium at a local class (page 38).
