1. Meal kits at Murray’s Cheese Bar ($10 to $69)
28-30 JACKSON AVE., LIC
MURRAYSCHEESEBAR.COM
Long Island City residents know Murray’s Cheese Bar as the
spot for well-paired cheeses and wines. Today, diners can’t
sample any of the fine wines or cheeses indoors, but they can
still order meal kits to prepare at home and replicate the experience
of eating at their favorite cheese joint. Murray’s offers
three meal kits that can serve between two and four people:
French onion soup, braised leek and sweet potato mac ‘n’
cheese, and the “melt” that entices people to “make our infamous
grilled cheese at home!”
2. Frozen burek pies at Djerdan

Djerdan Burek’s storefront is located on a
humble Astoria block with a handful of other
restaurants nearby. This Mediterranean
spot offers a wide variety of frozen burek
pies — baked pastries that can be filled with
meat, cheese or vegetables. Djerdan offers
cheese, beef and spinach bureks that take
about 30 minutes to cook in the oven.
