New NormalWear
Masks of all types worn to travel
AIRPORT VOICE, JULY 2020 11
The new normal of airport
protective face gear is seen all
about the airports these days.
Port Authority has issued
guidelines for wearing protective
masks to prevent the
spread of Covid.
There are no specific rules
on what the Personal Protective
Equipment should look
like, so many travelers are taking
this requirement to different
levels.
All travelers to the Port airports
must wear a face mask
in the terminals. Airlines are
mandating the wearing of
masks throughout their journey.
There have been instances
of airlines barring unmasked
travelers to protect others.
The TSA are now wearing face
shields to mitigate possible
spreading of the illness.
In addition to these masks,
airlines are also limiting the
seating in order to keep passengers
distanced. The majority
of the public agrees with
these safety precautions.
Governor Cuomo has also
implemented the Travel Advisory
where passengers from
17 states are required to register
upon arriving at JFK
for quarantine and tracking
by the DOH. There is signage
throughout the airports indicating
these requirements.
