WITH “SAFETY EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR” AND GROUND
HANDLERS “BEST IN CLASS” AWARDS
As a part of its ongoing
commitment to the safety of
more than 21 million annual
travelers, the leadership of
Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy
International Airport recognized
employees and organizations
for their outstanding
performance and dedication
to safety at the fifth annual
“Safety Employees of the
Year” awards and eighth annual
Ground Handlers “Best
in Class” awards ceremony.
“We are proud to honor
this year’s awards winners for
going above and beyond their
normal daily duties, promoting
a proactive safety culture,
and setting the precedent for
other employees and organizations,”
said Roel Huinink,
President and CEO of
JFKIAT. “Thank you to all
employees who are committed
to safety, as well as ground
handlers who continue to enhance
the safety culture to ensure
T4 is always safe and secure.”
The “Safety Employees of
the Year” awards recognize
employees who understand,
share and appreciate the importance
of workplace safety.
Winners were judged on several
criteria and awarded in
three categories: life safety
(saving a life or preventing
injury), damage prevention
(building, aircraft, or equipment),
and safety culture
(safety suggestions, community
collaboration, or commitment
to safety).
The “Safety Employees of
