event of the season and all the Port airports were ready with the Emergency Operations Centers virtually staffed by Port employees
and representatives of all stakeholders. Constant communication among all impacted by the storm was the key to a successful
battle fought against the weather.

Era of digital travel passports begins

The worldwide pandemic has created
a need for identification that can
be used to provide proof of Covid testing,
Covid vaccination and other medical
history for travelers. Back in the
day, a paper certificate or card would
be used. Today, with the digital revolution
firmly in place, a new type of
identification or electronic form of
identification is being called a digital
passport.
Many countries are already requiring
proof of a negative test for entry.
In the USA it is now mandated that all
persons traveling into the USA, other
than citizens and some other exemptions,
results showing a negative Covid
test taken 72 hours before a flight, will
be necessary for entry , so immediate
access to personal digital data will
make travel more efficient and safe.
Various airports, terminal operators
and organizations re looking into
these digital platforms top trial and
assess the potential for their operations.
