CAMP GUIDE
Here are 7 great summer day camps your kids will love
BY MORGAN CHITTUM AND
STEPHEN LEPORE
Parents are always looking
for somewhere for their kids
to truly be the boys and girls
of summer.
According to the 2017 U.S.
Census Bureau, Queens has an
estimated 471,716 residents who
are under the age of 18, most of
whom are attending school.
The borough has several
opportunities for youth to get
involved in extracurriculars.
All these options may seem
overwhelming, especially
since summer lurks just
around the corner.
Here are some of the best in
our area:
1. Camp Invention has a
STEM program for curious
and innovative children. The
program aims to develop
problem-solving skills, identify
inventors as role models and
build confidence in children.
The camp includes interactive,
hands-on and creative
activities led by local teachers.
Since 1990, Camp Invention
has encouraged children to
stay engaged even when they
are not attending school. You
can register at their website,
