Th e Catholic Foundation of Brooklyn
and Queens hosted its annual Bishop’s
Christmas Luncheon on Dec. 5 at Russo’s
on the Bay in Howard Beach. Bishop
Nicholas DiMarzio, leader of the Diocese
of Brooklyn and Queens, welcomed
hundreds of guests to the fundraising,
Christmas-themed lunch benefi ting the
foundation’s many activities. Th e foundation
supports the spiritual, educational
and social needs of local Catholics
through endowment funds while practicing
Christian stewardship.
Among the honorees at the luncheon were
Joseph Esposito, commissioner of the Offi ce
of Emergency Management; Sister Tesa
Fitzgerald of Hour Children; and Monsignor
Alfred LoPinto of Catholic Charities.
