Laurelton
Teen boy allegedly sexually
assaulted in deli
Detectives need the public’s help in
fi nding a man accused of sexually assaulting
a 13-year-old boy inside a Laurelton
deli on Sunday aft ernoon.
According to law enforcement source,
the attack occurred at 5:20 p.m. on Nov.
4 at the Hands Deli, located at 233-14
Merrick Blvd.
Authorities said the perpetrator, who
went by the name “Mel,” sexually assaulted
the 13-year-old boy, then forced him
to perform a sex act on him. Moments
later, Mel fl ed the scene.
Offi cers from the 105th Precinct
responded to the scene. Paramedics
brought the teenager to North Shore
Hospital in Manhasset, where he was
treated and released for his injuries.
On Tuesday morning, Nov. 6, the
NYPD released security video footage
of the perpetrator; he’s described as as a
black man standing 6 feet tall and weighing
250 pounds, with brown eyes, a bald
head and a dark complexion.
Th e suspect was last seen wearing a
blue-and-gray New York Mets cap, a
black hooded sweatshirt, a black bubble
vest, a gray T-shirt, black jeans and black
sneakers. Cops also said he had an earring
in his left ear.

South Ozone Park
Power tools stolen
from Home Depot
Cops are looking for a duo who recently
walked into Th e Home Depot in South
Ozone Park and took off with power
tools.
According to police, at 11 a.m. on Oct.
9, two men entered the big box store at
112-20 Rockaway Blvd. Once inside, the
men took four Bosch power tools, which
were valued at $1,795, and fl ed the store
without paying for them.
Th e NYPD released images of the suspects.

Flushing
Woman indicted for
knife attack
A Flushing woman was indicted on
charges Th ursday, Nov. 2 following an
unprovoked knife attack of three newborns
and two adults at a Flushing day
care center in the early morning hours
of Sept. 21, according to Queens District
Attorney Richard Brown.
Th e defendant, Yufen Wang, 52, of
Cherry Avenue in Flushing, was indicted
Nov. 2 with four counts of second-degree
attempted murder, four counts of
fi rst-degree assault, one count of second
degree assault, and one count of
fourth-degree criminal possession of a
weapon.
Wang was ordered to return to court
Nov. 16 by Acting Queens Supreme
Court Justice Suzanne Melendez.
Wang, who worked as a caregiver,
allegedly stabbed a fellow caregiver seven
times in the leg, face, and chest as she was
feeding an infant at around 3 a.m. in the
kitchen of a three-story residence located
at 43-67 161 St.
Wang also stabbed the infant who the
63-year-old woman was feeding at the
time, before proceeding to harm others in
the house, according to Brown.
Meng Xu, 31, a father to one of the children
in the center, woke up to the sounds
of Wang slashing and stabbing two baby
girls. In his eff orts to try and stop the
knife-wielding woman, Xu was stabbed
in the leg and bitten on the wrist, Brown
said.
“Th e defendant carried out a brutal
attack on several individuals including
defenseless, innocent children,” said
Brown.
A 22-day-old girl injured during the
melee suff ered lacerations to her face,
chest and ear. A 33-day-old infant girl
sustained injuries to her abdomen and
back. Th e youngest of the victims, just
13 days old, suff ered knife wounds to her
abdomen, face and chest, Brown said.
According to Brown, police recovered
a knife on the fi rst fl oor, which was used
by Wang to attack the victims. A second
knife was found in the basement, where
the defendant was found with self-infl icted
wounds to her neck and wrist.
If convicted, Wang faces between fi ve
and 25 years in prison.
“Her unspeakable actions will not go
unpunished, and she will now face a
lengthy term of incarceration as result
of the nature of the crimes committed,”
Brown said.

Corona
Seven-month-old
found dead in home
Police are investigating the death of an
infant who was found unconscious in his
Corona home on Monday aft ernoon.
According to authorities, at 4:05 p.m.
on Nov. 5, offi cers from the 110th Precinct
responded to a 911 call regarding an aided
child inside his home on 41st Avenue.
Upon their arrival, offi cers found
7-month-old Th iago Gaumarra unconscious
and unresponsive, with no obvious
signs of trauma.
EMS responded to the location and
rushed Gaumarra to Elmhurst Hospital
Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police indicated that, at this time, there
is no evidence of foul play.
Th e Medical Examiner will determine the
cause of death. Th e investigation is ongoing.
111th Precinct
Bayside
Four-car collision injures two
Two people have been hospitalized with
injuries aft er four vehicles collided on
the Clearview Expressway in Bayside on
Tuesday morning.
Calls came in to the Fire Department at
about 9:21 a.m. on Nov. 6 about the accident
on the highway’s northbound lanes
near Exit 4 (Long Island Expressway).
Sources said at least one of the cars had
spun out while another had its rear passenger
wheel ripped off in the impact.
Paramedics rushed the injured victims
to Long Island Jewish Medical Center
and Flushing Hospital for treatment of
their injuries.
FDNY and NYPD do not have further
details about the accident at this time. Th e
investigation is ongoing.
