Burglars steal fortune
from Kew Gdns. apts.
Police are looking for a pair of crooks
who burglarized three Kew Gardens
apartments and made off with more than
$25,000 in cash in valuables.
According to police, at 11:30 a.m. on
Sept. 30, two unknown individuals broke
into an apartment in the vicinity of Kew
Gardens Road and 82nd Avenue with an
unknown object. Once inside, the suspects
took $2,000 in cash and $7,205
worth of jewelry, luxury clothing items
and electronic devices before fl eeing to
parts unknown.
Just two days later, at 8 a.m. on Oct. 2,
the suspects used an unknown object to
enter an apartment located in the vicinity
of 136th Street and Kew Gardens Road.
Once inside, law enforcement sources
said, the crooks took approximately
$25,000 in jewelry and $1,400 in electronics.
Th e perpetrators fl ed the location to
parts unknown.
Later that same day at 11 p.m., police
noted the suspects broke into an apartment
that was located in the vicinity of
Brevoort Street and Metropolitan Avenue
through the rear window. Aft er getting in,
the burglars removed $300 in cash as well
as various forms of identifi cation before
fl eeing the scene to parts unknown.
Th e suspects are described as males
with a medium complexion. Th e fi rst suspect,
who is between the ages of 25- and
30-years-old, was last seen wearing a gray
shirt and a black and baseball cap. Th e
second suspect was last seen wearing a
red baseball cap, dark colored jeans and
gray sweatshirt.

Robber takes cabbie for a ride
Police are looking for a man who stole
$700 and credit cards from a livery cab
driver who thought he was doing him a
favor in Flushing last month.
On Th ursday, Sept. 14 at around 11:20
a.m., the 41-year-old driver picked up
the suspect at Sanford Avenue and Main
Street and drove him into Chinatown,
Manhattan, offi cials said. Th e victim then
drove the individual from Chinatown
back to a Flushing hotel in the vicinity of
135th Street and 39th Avenue.
Upon arrival, authorities said, the suspect
told the driver he had an argument
with a person inside of the building and
asked if he would go upstairs and retrieve
his belongings for him.
Th e victim complied, and when he
returned, the suspect was gone. Police
said that the victim later determined that
the perpetrator had stolen $700 and three
of his credit cards.
Th e incident was reported to the 109th
Precinct.
Police described the suspect as an Asian
male, medium complexion, 25-30 years
old with brown hair and brown eyes. He
was last seen wearing a white t-shirt.
Whitestone burglars
steal luxury cars
Police are looking for three suspects
who slipped into a Whitestone residence
earlier this month and drove off with
three expensive cars while homeowners
slept inside.
On Oct. 4 at approximately 5:30 a.m.,
three men entered a home in the vicinity
of 168th Street and 14th Avenue through
a rear glass door, an NYPD spokesperson
said. Th ere was no visible damage to
the door.
As the victims slept inside, law enforcement
sources said, the perpetrators
removed three sets of car keys from the
home. Th e perpetrators then went back
outside and stole three vehicles: a 2011
black Mercedes Benz two-door, 2017 blue
Mercedes Benz four-door and a 2019
white Ford Mustang two-door.

Forest Hills & Rego Park
Man dies in Forest Hills fi re
Fire offi cials are investigating a Forest
Hills fi re that left one person dead and
another in critical condition on Tuesday
morning.
Th e blaze broke out on Oct. 10 at 10:20
a.m. in the second fl oor of a three-story
apartment building at 111th Street and
66th Avenue, an FDNY spokesperson
said. Th e fi re was brought under control
at 10:53 a.m.
First responders found one victim, who
reportedly ran from the building while on
fi re into the residence’s courtyard, dead
at the scene, offi cials said. Authorities
have identifi ed the victim as 59-year-old
Ramon Rahim.
Another 30-year-old male victim, who
jumped out of a rear window to escape
the fi re, suff ered burns to his face and
arms. He is listed in critical condition at
NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital.
Th e cause of the fi re is still under
investigation, according to offi cials.
Investigators found a non-functioning
smoke detector in the apartment.
A total of 12 units and 60 fi refi ghters
responded to the scene.
