Classic at Citi Field on sale now

Rangers face off with the Buff alo Sabres in Flushing
can now secure their seats.
Tickets to the 2018 Winter Classic at Citi Field
went on sale to the public on Oct. 12. Fans can visit
www.ticketmaster.com for full ticket pricing, seating
charts and purchase options.
Th e annual outdoor game is slated to take place
on Jan. 1. For the event, a hockey rink will be set
up at the baseball stadium between fi rst and third
base, towards center fi eld.
New York Rangers captain and defenseman
Ryan McDonagh and left winger Rick Nash met
with Buff alo Sabres players at Citi Field on Sept. 8
to talk about the upcoming game.
Th e New Year’s Day game will be broadcast live
on NBC, Sportsnet in Canada and TVA Sports
at 1 p.m Eastern time. It’s the second time that
the Rangers and Sabres have participated in the
Winter Classic, but it’s the fi rst outdoor meeting
between the two franchises.
Th e league’s tradition of hosting a regular-season
outdoor game at the onset of the new year
began in 2008. Th is year’s event will mark the 10th
anniversary.
“Th e Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic represents
everything that is great about our game,” New
York Rangers President Glen Sather said. “Playing
in the Winter Classic and Stadium Series in recent
years was a tremendous experience for our organization
and we look forward to yet another opportunity
to celebrate the game of hockey, together
with all our fans, in New York City.”

W.O.R.K.S. Little League,
formerly known as Rich-Haven
Little League, has begun early
registration for the upcoming
season.
Early registration began
last week and continues this
week on Th ursday, Oct. 12 and
Friday, Oct. 13 from 6:30 to
8:30 p.m. at the Club House,
located at 84-01 Jamaica Ave.
Th e early registration fee is $80.
Th e fee will go up aft er Oct. 21.
Parents can also purchase
tickets to the Awards Luncheon
which will take place on
Saturday, Oct. 21 from noon
to 4 p.m. at Holy Child Jesus
Catholic Academy, located at
111-02 86th Ave. in Richmond
Hill. Tickets for the Awards
Luncheon are $20, and tickets
will not be sold at the door.
W.O.R.K.S., which serves
Woodhaven, Ozone Park,
Richmond Hill, Kew Gardens,
and South Ozone Park, aims
to teach children good citizenship,
and build character and
teamwork through the game
of baseball. W.O.R.K.S. Little
League has over 700 volunteer
members ranging from players
and coaches, to managers and
umpires, and more.
