One of the earliest tributes this past weekend took place on Friday, Sept. 9, in Maspeth, where residents gathered at Maspeth Memorial Park to recall that fateful day with prayers, songs and wreath-layings. On Sunday, Sept. 11, residents of Glen Oaks and Bayside Hills held their own vigils bringing together people of all walks of life to remember those who were lost.
