Perp sought for
deadly shooting
Police are requesting the public’s assistance
in fi nding a suspect wanted in connection
to a shooting in Richmond Hill
over the weekend.
At 2:38 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, cops
responded to a 911 call about a man who
had been shot at 118th Street and 101st
Avenue in Richmond Hill.
Offi cers from the 102nd Precinct found
an unidentifi ed male lying unconscious
and unresponsive in front of a home on
118th Street between 101st and 103rd
avenues. Th e man sustained a gunshot
wound to his shoulder.
EMS responded to the scene and transported
the victim to Jamaica Hospital,
where he was pronounced dead. His identity
was withheld, pending family notifi
cation.
Law enforcement sources said that
no arrests have been made and there is
no known motive for the shooting. Th e
investigation into the case is ongoing.

Hillcrest
EMT killed in motorcycle crash
An off -duty EMT for the FDNY died
aft er crashing his motorcycle into a
Hillcrest home on the night of Sunday,
Aug. 19.
According to police, at 10:23 p.m. on
Aug. 19, offi cers from the 107th Precinct
responded to a 911 call regarding a motor
vehicle collision at the intersection of
Utopia Parkway and 80th Drive.
Upon their arrival, they found Eric
Maleh, 25, lying in front of a Utopia
Parkway residence, unconscious and
unresponsive.
An investigation revealed that Maleh
was driving a 2000 Harley Davidson
motorcycle northbound on Utopia
Parkway when he swerved around a
car that was making a U-turn. Maleh
then lost control of his motorcycle and
crashed into the front of home on Utopia
Parkway.
EMS responded to the scene and rushed
Maleh to NYC Health + Hospitals/
Queens, where he was pronounced dead.
Th e crash is still being investigated by
the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad.
109th Precinct
Flushing
Man stabbed in front of store
Cops collared a Flushing resident who
allegedly stabbed a 36-year-old man in
the back during an early-morning argument
on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
According to police, the trouble began
at 12:25 a.m. on Aug. 21 in front of a
closed storefront on Kissena Boulevard
near Elder Avenue.
Law enforcement sources said the victim
was talking with a group of friends
when Christian Garciaduqe, 39, of 45th
Avenue approached and engaged him in
a verbal argument. Th e victim and attacker
were apparently known to each other,
police said.
Th e dispute turned violent, authorities
said, when Garciaduqe allegedly pulled
out a knife and stabbed the victim in the
back before fl eeing the scene.
Paramedics brought the victim to
NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens hospital
in stable condition.
Following a preliminary investigation,
cops located Garciaduqe a short time later
and arrested him on charges of assault
and criminal possession of a weapon.
114th Precinct
Astoria
Senior swindled out of
$7,500 in phone scam
Cops are looking
for a duo who recently
conned a 90-year-old
woman in Astoria out of
$7,500 over the phone.
According to police,
at 9 a.m. on Aug. 14,
the victim received a
call on her home phone
from an unknown individual
claiming to be a
relative who had been
involved in a car accident.
He went on to tell
the senior that he was
arrested and needed
money to be bailed out
of jail.
Law enforcement
sources said that the
fi rst suspect then put
another unknown man
on the phone. He told
the victim that he was
a lawyer and that she needed to provide
$7,500 in cash for bail.
At 4:30 p.m. that day, authorities said,
one of the suspects arrived at the victim’s
apartment on 36th Avenue and collected
the money. It was later determined that
the victim’s loved one was not involved in
a motor vehicle accident, nor did he have
any contact with law enforcement, and
further never contacted the victim.
Th e suspect who collected the money is
described as white man standing 5 feet, 9
inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall. Currently
there is no description of the other suspect.

South Ozone Park
Robbers steal bundle
at gunpoint
Cops are still looking for a duo that
pushed a man to the ground and robbed
him on the streets of South Ozone Park
last month.
According to police, at 3:50 p.m.
on July 23, a 55-year-old man was in
the vicinity of 134th Street and Sutter
Avenue when he was approached by two
unknown men. Th e men proceeded to
push the victim to the ground and simulated
they they had a handgun in their
backpack.
Th e suspects proceeded to take $2,800
in cash from the victim and then fl ed
the scene.
Th e robbers are described by police as
black men, one of which was last seen
wearing pajama pants.
