FRIDAY, AUGUST 22 New York Carousel Entertainment will be hosting its third annual fundraiser, and New Yorkers of all ages are invited to ride the Forest Park Carousel and help raise money to fi ght Alzheimer’s. It will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Forest Park Carousel. Macy’s Shop for a Cause Event has been happening since 2006, and this year it is giving Queens residents a chance to give back to the community. When you purchase a $5 shopping pass, you will get exclusive savings in every Macy’s store, including the Roosevelt Avenue store in Flushing, and the Queens Historical Society will get 100 percent of the proceeds. The event will take place all day at any Macy’s store. Specifi cally, current New York City women residents who are 40 and older with health insurance, 50 and older without health insurance, or those who have not had a mammogram in the past 12 months are eligible.
