Rochdale Village hosts hoops game
Rochdale Village
Recreation Organization
(RVRO) held a game
between Rochdale
Raiders and Team Crate
from Far Rockaway on
Aug. 3 in the Rochdale
Village basketball court
in Jamaica.
Th e game came down
to the wire as the Raiders
fell short in their bid to
defeat Team Crate. Down
by one point in the second
half 59-58, Rochdale
would regain possession.
While on a fast break
with an uncontested path
to the basket, a Rochdale
player requested a timeout.

Cardozo loses tourney game to 'Team Underrated'
Cardozo and Team Underrated faced
off during the second semifi nal game
in the More Th an A Game High School
Basketball Summer Tournament at St.
Albans Park on Saturday Aug. 10. Team
Underrated defeated Cardozo on a late
second half comeback 47-43. Cardozo
took a fi ve point lead into the second half
and hold a ten point lead with less than
four minutes remaining in the game, however,
turnovers and poor defensive play
allowed Team Underated to comeback
for the victory, behind the strong play of
Michael Randall.
