Touching on the history of the interior to its present iterations, the artists in the exhibition examine displays of domesticity, as constructed through spaces and things. Call 718-361-1750 for more information THURSDAY, JUNE 27 Curated by Long Island City Artists (LICA), the exhibition “Bridging the Gap” is a celebration of the diversity and creativity present in the many communities of Queens. The exhibition was assembled through an open call to the artists of Queens and is open from 12 to 5 p.m. from June 27 until July 14 at Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Boulevard. SATURDAY, JUNE 29 Moma WARM UP Starting June 29 and continuing every Saturday of the summer through September 7, MoMA PS1 presents its highly anticipated outdoor music series WARM UP. WARM UP is celebrating its 16th year and is keeping its tradition of introducing audiences to an array of musical styles, such as experimental live music, The Long Island City Artists (LICA) is hosting a family sun-printing workshop at 2 p.m. at Flushing Town Hall. Creative minded families are encouraged to bring items such as leaves, lace, or feathers to use in the art of sunprinting. The workshop on July 6 is Upcycled Art, where kids will make a collaborative piece of art while recycling plastic waste, they will learn sculpture techniques that will let them transform plastics bottles and containers into beautiful urban art.
