On Sunday, June 23, two suspects entered 75-09 Jamaica Avenue, a vacant residential location, without permission or authority and removed copper piping. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800- 577-TIPS. 103RD PRECINCT Downtown Jamaica Business District, Hollis Park Gardens, Hollis, Lakewood and Jamaica Teen arrested in fatal stabbing of 18-year-old in Jamaica A 17-year-old has been arrested for the murder of a Rosedale teen who was stabbed in Jamaica, police said. Andrew Benitez has been charged with second-degree homicide and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of 18-year-old Aaron Jefferson. Jefferson was found unconscious June 22 with a stab wound in his back outside an apartment complex at 148-25 89th Avenue, cops said. He was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. 105TH PRECINCT Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Laurelton, Rosedale, Springfield Gardens, Bellerose, Glen Oaks, New Hyde Park and Floral Park Man attacks, stabs woman multiple times in Queens Village A woman was stabbed multiple times by a man in Queens Village on Tuesday, June 25, said police. Cops were called to the scene of the assault at 221st Street near 105th Avenue around 5 a.m. and found the 36-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds to her neck and torso. She was taken to North Shore University Hospital in critical condition. Police describe the suspect as a black male. The motive behind the attack is still unclear as they wait to speak to the victim. 106TH PRECINCT Howard Beach, Ozone Park and South Ozone Park Arrest in fatal stabbing A 19 year old has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Danthony McDonald in Ozone Park on June 14. Wilson Rivera faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Police find decomposed body Police found the decomposed body of a woman in South Ozone Park late last week. Her identity was not released. She was pronounced dead on arrival on June 21 near South Conduit Avenue and the Van Wyck Expressway, police said. There are no arrests at this time, police said, and the investigation is ongoing. The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner. Cement & Brick Work 104TH PRECINCT Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale and Ridgewood Change of the guard Special Operations Lieutenant James Lombardi, known for leading the crackdown on graffiti in the neighborhood, is leaving to go to a precinct in Harlem. His replacement will be Lt. George Hellmer. Citizens’ Academy grads Five members of the Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association (WRBA) graduated from the NYPD’s Citizens’ Police Academy recently. The Academy is an in-depth 14-week program that provides extensive training and education about the police department’s work. The graduates – WRBA treasurer Stephen Forte, Janet Forte, Marie Paz, Elaine Carillo, and Susan Sweeney – received their diplomas from NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly in a ceremony at One Police Plaza. The program covered a wide variety of subjects including criminal justice law, hostage negotiations, child abuse, counterterrorism and school safety. The graduates also had the opportunity to use the NYPD’s sophisticated firearms training simulator. “The Citizens’ Police Academy taught me a remarkable amount about the police department’s Old World Craftsmanship Cement & Brick Work CALL ARTIE work,” Stephen Forte said.  “It deepened my appreciation for all that goes into policing, and it made me much more aware of how I can help the police in my community. I look forward to applying those lessons in my civic involvement with the block association. The total number of WRBA members who have completed the program in the past year now stands at eight.
