A recent report explored which Queens
neighborhoods are off ering renters the most
space for their money when looking for
apartments.
Zumper, a company that seeks to redesign
the rental market for the 21st century,
recently released a report that takes a
look at which neighborhoods off er the least
expensive price per square foot for spacious
apartments. According to their fi ndings, the
median price per square foot in New York
City as a whole comes to $2.14 per square
foot of space.
Th e report listed the top fi ve neighborhoods
in each borough that off ered the least
expensive price per square foot. Zumper’s
data found that the least expensive neighborhood
was Auburndale, where apartments
with the most space were priced at $1.03 per
square foot.
Second on the list of least expensive neighborhoods
is Bay Terrace, where the price
jumps to $1.44 per square foot. Following
behind Bay Terrace is Ozone Park, which
off ers prices of $1.67 per square foot for spacious
apartments.
Rounding out the top fi ve list of least
expensive neighborhoods for spacious apartments
in Queens were Rockaway Beach and
Maspeth, which were priced at $1.91 and
$2.01 per square foot, respectively.
Among the more expensive neighborhoods
in Queens include Long Island City
and Queens Village, which are priced at
$4.50 and $4.27 per square foot, respectively.
