Two wanted for attempted
robbery in Howard Beach
Cops are looking for a duo who they say
tried to rob two men on the streets of the
Lindenwood section of Howard Beach.
According to police, at 11:30 p.m. on
May 6, a 53-year-old man and a 35-yearold
man were walking in the vicinity of
153rd Avenue and 84th Street when they
were approached by two unknown men.
One of the suspects told them, in sum
and circumstance, to “hand over their
money,” while the other gestured to the
victims’ waistband and told them to hand
over his iPhone.

Corrections offi cer arrested
for hitting son with belt
Police in Forest Hills have arrested a city
Department of Corrections (DOC) offi cer
aft er he allegedly assaulted his son with a
belt during a dispute on Saturday, May 4.
Peter Jean Baptiste is a 35-year-old
DOC captain who now faces charges of
assault, harassment and acting in a manner
injurious to a child less than 17.
Th e incident occurred within the confi
nes of the 112th Precinct, which covers
Forest Hills and Rego Park, at around
7:15 p.m. on May 4 while Jean-Baptiste
was off -duty.
Cops did not provide a specifi c location
for the incident and said the male victim,
who was struck in the back and legs, was
Jean Baptiste’s son.

Man wanted for violent
stabbing in Long Island City
Police need the public’s help in fi nding
a man they want to question about a stabbing
inside a Long Island City grocery
store on the aft ernoon of Friday, May 3.
Law enforcement sources said the attack
occurred at 5:53 p.m. on May 3 inside the
21 Deli located at 40-35 21st St., across
the street from the Queensbridge Houses
complex.
According to authorities, the suspect
displayed a knife and then stabbed a
19-year-old man in the torso, then fl ed
from the scene. Th e motive behind the
attack remains unknown at this time,
sources familiar with the investigation
said.
Offi cers from the 114th Precinct and
EMS units responded to the incident.
Paramedics brought the victim to a local
hospital in stable condition.
On May 4, the NYPD released a security
camera image of a man wanted for
questioning with regard to the assault.
He’s described as a black man in his early
20s with a light complexion and a slim
build.

Duo sought for steal $14,000
worth of phones from LIC store
Police are looking for a duo who stole
thousands of dollars’ worth of cellphones
from a Long Island City store last month.
According to authorities, at 2 p.m. on
April 24, two unknown individuals inside
of a Best Buy located at 50-01 Northern
Blvd. Th e suspects were spotted on surveillance
footage entering a secure storage
closet and taking 17 cellphones, valued at
an estimated $14,000.
Th e suspects then fl ed the store in an
unknown direction. Police released the
following video of the suspects, which is
available on QNS.com.
Police described the fi rst suspect as a
black man between the ages of 25 and
35 years old and was last seen wearing
white T-shirt and dark pants. Th e second
suspect is described as a black woman
between the ages of 25 and 35 years old
and was last seen wearing a long blond
hair, green cap and dark jacket.

Crook steals scrap metal
from Ozone Park home
Cops are looking for a burglar who
broke into an Ozone Park home and
wheeled off with stolen scrap metal.
According to police, between noon
and 2 p.m. on April 23, an unknown man
broke into a residence on 94th Street.
Once inside, the suspect took approximately
$1,000 worth of scrap metal from
the home.
Th e suspect used a metal shopping
cart to remove the scrap metal from the
scene. He then fl ed the location in an
unknown direction.
Th e victim reported that when he
arrived home, there was damage to the
front door and the rear window was shattered.
