month. Lizzy Cassidy, the
main comedian and producer,

month’s line up includes Mike

Grace, Ben Katzner, Andrea
Allan and Calise Hawkins.

4 Katch Astoria will
have an event featuring
a silent dance party
with Caribbean and Latin
dancing. The night will have
a free salsa lesson and jello
shot specials. Change the
channel on your headset to
flip between three genres
throughout the night. Each
headset has a color LED light
that shows which channel
someone is listening to. This
experience will include a pair
of Quiet Events headphones,
glow in-the-dark gear and
three live DJs. For those who
prefer quiet spaces, there
will be zero loud music to
talk over, which unlike other
dance parties means no ringing
in your ears when you
leave. This is a 21+ event.

The Briar and Kew Gardens Lions Club will have a community meeting on reducing
housing costs and the virtual senior rent increase exemption on Saturday. The NYC
Department of Finance will discuss the following: Disability Rent Increase Exemption,
Senior Citizen Homeowners’ Exemption and Disabled Homeowners’ Exemption.
Participants should also expect a presentation on the new Virtual Senior Center. The
Virtual Senior Center teaches older adults how to use digital tools such as Skype and
email. This will help them connect and build relationships with peers, as well as staying
up-to-date with modern technology.

Cave host the performance
arts show, New
York City Talent Show, an
event that has been called
the world’s greatest open
stage and a real NYC tradition.
Since the show started
over a decade ago by Debra
and Victor Varnado, the NYC
performance show has hosted
greats such as Kristen
Schaal, Hannibal Buress,
Jim Gaffigan and Jonathan
Aimes. The show runs every
Friday, creating a welcoming
space for performers. This
space is advertised as an
environment where anyone
can feel comfortable performing.

7 The Newtown Literary
Alliance offers free
writing classes for teens
at the Queens Library in
Jackson Heights. In this
workshop, participants will
write and read poetry that discusses
topics such as migration,
class, race and family.
This series, “Poems That
Tell Stories” will be taught by
Belal Mobarak. Mobarak was
a finalist in Brutal Nation’s
Competition in 2017. His
work has been published
in Columbia Poetry Review,
Newtown Literary, Blueshift
Journal, Flock, Apogee, HEart
and others.

America will have a
flea market this Saturday,
offering all sorts of lowpriced
items. The Italian
Charities of America will sell
new, used, vintage and unique
goods. Some of these include
handbags, yarn, books, costume
jewelry, clothing and
several other household
items. Plus, the flea market is
free to attend. Breakfast and
lunch can be purchased at the
event. Finally, the location is
wheelchair and stroller accessible
by elevator.

bazaar in Forest
Hills for free! The bazaar
