Raymond was born on May 5, 1938, in Queens, New York. Raymond was married to Linda Riso (nee Novello) and together they had four children, Dawn, James, Nicole and Dana; and nine grandchildren, Thomas, Michael, Samantha, Taylor, Michelle, Juliet, Della, Gavin and Logan. Raymond worked as one of the third-generation principals of his family owned business, The Briarwood Organization / L. Riso & Sons Co., Inc. with over 100 years in construction and property management of many residential, affordable residential, commercial and retail buildings throughout the City of New York. He worked alongside his son James Riso, his brother Vincent Riso, and longtime friend, Howard Goodman. During his lifelong tenure at Briarwood, Raymond played a significant role in the pre-construction phases of development. Raymond was an original founder, past president and board member of the Queens & Bronx Building Association, as well as a past board member of Queens Community Board 11. His life was a blessing. His memory a treasure. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Memorial donations may be made in Raymond Riso’s name to his favorite charity, St. Mary’s Foundation for Children, www.stmaryskids.org.
